Molnlycke is now hiring a Senior Purchaser to work at our Brunswick & Wiscasset Maine Facilities!

What you’ll do:

  • Source and negotiate with new local/global suppliers, maintain the approved supplier list, and oversee supplier products and capabilities.
  • Negotiate contracts, update cost development files, and ensure accurate pricing in the MRP system.
  • Coordinate drafting, review, and approval of supplier agreements, evaluating and monitoring contracts for compliance.
  • Investigate market trends and evaluate suppliers based on price, quality, and delivery speed.
  • Host supplier business review meetings and provide support to various departments.
  • Identify purchasing opportunities, follow risk management processes, and visit supplier sites regularly.
  • Maintain records of purchases, costs, deliveries, and inventories, measuring supplier performance and recommending actions.
  • Drive suppliers to improve supply and quality performance, ensuring production plans meet scheduling requirements.
  • Support planners by monitoring order status and ensuring adequate safety stocks and logistic support.
  • Coordinate production activities with production management and planning, assisting quality in supplier qualification.
  • Address defective or unacceptable goods or services, drive solutions for quality and supply issues, and participate in supplier audits.
  • Ensure compliance with local and global regulatory standards and drive drafting and review of supplier quality agreements.
  • Duties may include attending industry events, analyzing price proposals, and implementing best practices to improve production, quality, and EHS standards.

Work/Life Balance

What you’ll need:

  • A bachelor’s degree in business is preferred, along with at least four (4) years of purchasing/sourcing experience; extensive equivalent experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Experience in material management and/or supply chain management in a manufacturing environment a plus.
  • Demonstrated understanding of international procurement and logistics.
  • Proven experience effectively utilizing an ERP system preferred.
  • APICS- CSCP or CPIM Certification a plus.
  • Knowledge and understanding of Lean with the ability to apply in live situations the principles and tools of lean manufacturing.
  • Highly proficient in the use of MS Office tools as well as purchasing activities in an ERP system.
