Molnlycke is hiring a Process Engineer for our Wiscasset, ME facility. In this role one will provide leadership, direction, and technical skills to optimize operational performance (safety, production, quality, and cost objectives) through:

  • Aggressively resolving “process issues” that cross operational, materials, and equipment boundaries.
  • Applying Continuous Improvement and Lean techniques.
  • In cooperation with cross-functional resources, develop and implement a continuous process improvement program for assigned machines to optimize Safety, Quality, Efficiency, Waste, and Cost performance.
  • Work with others to find optimal process, materials, equipment, and operational solutions to complex manufacturing problems.
  • Analyze machine efficiency and waste trends in order to identify major causes of operational, mechanical, electrical and process disruptions. In cooperation with cross-functional resources, identify and implement corrective actions to these issues.
  • Take a leading role in developing and implementing the plant’s process control strategy to achieve conformance to specifications and improvements in efficiency and waste.
  • Provide process expertise and liaison with Engineering and R&D resources for machine modifications, rebuilds, product upgrades, trials/machine tests, and capital projects.
  • Act as a resource to machine teams for technical problem solving and application of analytical methods.
  • Assist Supervisors, Line Leads, Operators, Mechanics, and other team members to identify process training needs and where appropriate, provide training.
  • Work as necessary, with material suppliers and their technical staff to optimize the ability of the material to run.  Link with Corporate resources as necessary.
  • Assist in the development of the annual preventive maintenance program.
  • Act as the process lead on studies and projects.
  • Develop or bring forward, as appropriate, industry best practices and new technologies.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by manager.


  • Technical expertise with applicable manufacturing processes, equipment, and materials.
  • Proven interpersonal skills to work effectively across functions.
  • Track record of personal urgency and tenacity to find practical solutions to complex manufacturing problems.
  • Bachelor of Engineering Degree or equivalent experience.
  • Expertise in Lean problem solving tools and techniques preferred
  • Ability to wear a respirator.
