Foam Production Technician, Night Shift

Mölnlycke is a medical device manufacturer in Wiscasset, ME providing on-the-job training for entry-level production line technicians.  


We are currently seeking full-time Foam Production Technicians to support our manufacturing of medical foam used in our healthcare products worldwide.


What we offer

  • $1,000 sign-on bonus ($250 paid after 2 wks; $750 paid after 90 days) 

  • $22/hr to start (includes $20/hr +$2 shift differential) with opportunities for advancement!

  • Earn up to $26/hour based on skills and experience (+$2 shift differential for hours worked between 5:30pm and 5:30am

  • 12-hour shifts (5:30 PM - 5:30 AM), 3-day & 4-day work wks

Perform quality control testing and inspection on foam products, record data in a computerized database, operation of machinery on a production line used to manufacture hydrophilic polyurethane foams, and packaging of finished goods.  Continual improvement of the workflow and production output of the foam line through constant monitoring and analysis of the manufacturing processes.  Working with others in a team environment to achieve the maximum quality and quantity of foam manufactured in the safest and most efficient manner.



  • Responsible for protecting the interest of the customer by ensuring the product meets specifications.
  • Responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the foam line equipment on the dry end of the foam line.
  • Communicates effectively with team members with regards to the quality of the product and operation of the foam line.
  • Understands the specifications, inspection, and testing methods of the product being produced.
  • Immediately engages the Meter Mix Operator when the line is not operational to help resolve line issues to improve  overall equipment effiencies (OEE). 
  • Critically observes surroundings and process and works with team members to improve safety, quality, delivery, cost and production methods.
  • Works with team members and supervision to meet the production schedule while operating in accordance with Molnlycke ISO Quality System to produce high quality product. 
  • Accurately maintains quality production records.
  • Effectively communicates with personnel from Quality, Maintenance, Shipping, Research and Development, ect to ensure on time shipments of  quality product.
  • Shows concern for work area by maintaining a clean and organized work area.
  • Understands the Key Performance Indicators (KPI) and properly and accurately gathers line performance data to ensure timely KPI reporting.
  • Consistently demonstrates ability to properly operate, maintain, and troubleshoot production equipment by proactively gaining a solid working knowledge of production equipment.
  • Participates in making modifications to work instructions and/or procedures as necessary.
  • Supports the effort to implement best practices within job scope; expected to participate in activities designed to improve environmental, health, and safety (EHS), production, and quality.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by manager.



  • Ensures product meets specifications and acts as a gatekeeper/agent for the customer by timely identifying potential quality issues. Ensures identified issues are corrected, elevated to next level, or halted immediately.
  • Ensures safe and efficient output of product at required specifications and meeting all required compliance.



  • Ability to participate in a team-based environment.
  • Ability to make well-reasoned decisions both independently and as part of a team.
  • Effective communication skills
  • Flexibility of work hours (including overtime) and/or shifts is required to ensure production goals are met
  • Good mathematical skills preferred
  • Basic mechanical skills
  • Ability to effectively utilize MS Word, MS Excel, MS Access and MS Outlook
  • Ability to meet job performance measures with minimal direct supervision and guidance
  • Effective personal organization skill



  • Previous production experience a plus
  • Experience in manufacturing or related environment preferred




  • Over 75% of the workdays are spent walking or standing (e.g. traveling to and from work areas etc.)
  • Frequent handling, lifting, carrying, pulling, pushing, reaching and grasping performed.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds regularly, up to approximately 64 inches from floor.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and color vision.
  • Ability to work 12 hour shifts
  • Ability to wear a respirator.
