We are now looking for a Senior Supervisor to support our Kuala Ketil Manufacturing Operations. The role will lead shop-floor execution and oversee daily manufacturing operations across multiple lines or shifts to achieve safety, quality, and output targets. Operating as the primary execution partner to the Assistant Production Manager, this role drives shift efficiency, enforces strict regulatory compliance, and mentor junior supervisors and floor leaders to maintain continuous manufacturing flow..

Here’s how you’ll make an impact in this role: 

 

  • Output & Execution: Directly oversee and coordinate the glove inspection, packaging, and final pack lines to achieve planned production throughputs and meet KK Manufacturing specifications.
  • Floor-Level Cost & Resource Control: Monitor and control labor allocation, machine utilization, and material usage on the floor to minimize waste and ensure operations remain within budgeted variances.
  • Frontline Leadership & Coaching: Supervise, train, and mentor Shift Leaders, Line Supervisors, and operators across the inspection and packaging areas to ensure strict adherence to company policies and safety protocols.
  • Data Collection & Escalation: Ensure accurate collation, recording, and reporting of shift statistics (area throughputs, yield losses, and material usage) to provide the Assistant Production Manager with reliable data for trend analysis.
  • TQM & SPC Implementation: Practice Total Quality Management (TQM) and Statistical Process Control (SPC) techniques on the floor; actively participate in and lead frontline improvement action to resolve immediate quality issues.
  • Regulatory & EHS Adherence: Enforce shop-floor compliance with all regulatory standards, including Medical Devices QMS (ISO 13485), FDA (21 CFR Part 820), MHLW Ordinance No. 169, and EHS Management Systems (ISO 14001 / ISO 45001).
  • Documentation & Training Maintenance: Update and maintain shift-level quality documentation, batch records, and training logs, ensuring floor personnel are continuously trained and the shop floor is permanently ready for internal and external audits.
  • Continuous Improvement Support: Support the implementation of departmental projects, 5S initiatives, Lean practices as directed by the plant management team.
  • Operational Flexibility: Execute any other duties, special projects, or cross-functional assignments as assigned by the Assistant Production Manager or Production Director to support changing factory needs.
  • Operational Adherence: Authority to make immediate floor-level decisions strictly within the framework of the laid-down procedures and departmental operating policies to keep production lines running safely.
  • Problem Escalation & First Response: Authority to halt an individual line or process when quality or safety thresholds are breached, initiating immediate troubleshooting and escalating systemic issues to the Assistant Production Manager.
  • Line-Level Resource Deployment: Authority to reallocate floor operators and adjust shift schedules dynamically to handle unplanned absenteeism or temporary bottlenecks.
  • Recommendations: Authority to highlight floor problems, validate staff ideas from the Suggestion Initiative Scheme, and propose corrective actions or solutions to the Assistant Production Manager.

 

 

What you’ll need:

  • Technical Product & Process Knowledge: Deep manufacturing knowledge of glove inspection, packaging standards, and material/defect variations.
  • Supervisory & Team Management: Strong leadership skills with a proven ability to manage, motivate, and organize large groups of factory personnel across rotating shifts.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Solid analytical and troubleshooting skills to resolve immediate line failures, scrap spikes, and operational bottlenecks.
  • Regulatory & Standard Awareness: Functional knowledge of medical device regulatory requirements (ISO 13485, FDA, MHLW Ordinance 169) and EHS practices (ISO 14001/45001).
  • Lean & 5S Execution: Practical experience practicing Lean manufacturing tools, 5S discipline, and Statistical Process Control (SPC) on a production floor.
  • Communication Skills: Good communication skills in both English and Bahasa Malaysia (oral and written) to coordinate with operators, supporting departments, and management.
  • Educational Qualification: Bachelor’s Degree or Advanced Diploma / Diploma in Engineering, Science.
  • Manufacturing Management, or a related technical discipline.
  • Required Experience: Minimum of 5 to 8 years of supervisory experience with a bachelor’s degree, or a minimum of 8+ years of supervisory experience with a Diploma, ideally within a continuous process or medical device environment.
