About the job
As the Gloves Product Developer you will integrate customer needs and voices into the product development projects and roadmap. You will be leading the identification, development and implementation of new products in order to meet customer needs and growth goals.
This position will be a subject matter expert in gloves customers, product development, and project management. In addition, the role will implement ideation, concept development, and evaluation to identify customer-preferred solutions. Also you will execute development and commercialization activities to bring solutions to market.
In this position you will partner with R&D team members and external partners to identify and develop enabling technologies to support the innovation projects.
This role gives you the opportunity and requires that you will travel globally now and then and to have a flexible schedule due to working across multiple time zones.
These are the main accountabilities for this position
- Identify and connect customer needs to product solutions through generating new ideas, refining concepts, and commercializing new products.
- Initiate and analyze research to develop the right solutions.
- Project co-leadership, with marketing function, to establish project scope and strategy; managing stage-gate process.
- Lead moderate complexity projects within the product development process to enable smooth transition in the introduction of new products to manufacturing; with cross-functional input, establish project scope, develop timeline and deliverables, identify resource needs, and manage project implementation accordingly.
- Plan and execute VOC and customer feedback at identified milestones in the development process.
- Support the development of product and project roadmap for Innovation and new products.
- Secure necessary IP for own products and monitor IP environment to ensure manufacturability and deliverability of own products.
- Develop new and improvements to product development and project management tools, processes, and ways of working.
- Plan and formulate all aspects of assigned product development projects such as objectives, purpose of projects, application cost of projects, equipment and resources needed.
- Follow project planning processes and procedures. Provide updates on project status, timeline, and resourcing. Identify and mitigate project risks and challenges.
- Provide budgetary estimates and manage projects according to committed budgeting decisions.
- Co-operation with R&D and cross-functional partners to develop solutions and deliver project scope.
- Engage and manage stakeholders throughout the project, aligning on scope and project strategic direction and conducting routine updates.
What you’ll need
In this role we would like you to have this capabilities, qualifications and experience:
- Bachelor’s degree preferably in Engineering or technical field. Masters or PhD preferred.
- Advanced certifications in Project Management or Product Development will be an added advantage.
- 5+ years of overall experience in product development
- 3+ years of overall experience in medical device
- Experience with a variety of innovation practices including voice of customer, ideation, concept development and design
- Experience leading moderate complexity projects and teams delivering new products to the market
- Preferrable to have experience of leading cross functional projects in an international – multicultural environment.
