Multi-skilled Maintenance Engineer (Electrical Bias)

Rotating weekly shift pattern Monday to Friday:  6:00am – 2:00pm and 2:00pm – 10:00pm

We’re looking for a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer with an electrical bias to help improve outcomes for healthcare professionals and their patients.


The role:

Reporting to the Engineering Lead you will work as part of a small team to ensure the performance and availability of production and auxiliary equipment whilst maintaining stringent quality and safety targets. We are looking for an ambitious, hardworking and enthusiastic engineer who can work autonomously, with minimal supervision as well as proactively contributing to cross functional services and activities.

The successful candidate will be a hands on, Multi-Skilled Engineer with an Electrical bias but also a strong mechanical understanding (60/40 split) and have a desire to improve machinery availability, life cycle costs and efficiency.         


Key Responsibilities:

  • Carry out planned and reactive repairs to a variety equipment and control systems
  • Support across the entire manufacturing site for all production departments
  • Carry out planned Maintenance activities in accordance to the Maintenance Plan
  • To take part ownership of the Maintenance plan to adapt and change as becomes necessary
  • Assist with the co-ordination of spare part requirements and optimising stock levels
  • Minimising downtime and contributing to the achievement of production targets
  • Carry out electrical, pneumatic and steam isolations in line with the lock & tag procedure
  • Supervision of outside contractors/service engineers and tradesmen as required
  • Generation and updating of engineering documentation eg: drawings, SOP’s, IQ/OQ, PPMs
  • Management of small projects such as equipment installation or staff training
  • Complete all relevant documentation in accordance with GMP
  • To develop and implement process improvements
  • Undertake standby cover and overtime as required


Qualifications & Experience:

  • HNC/D in an electrical engineering discipline
  • Completed a recognised city & guilds, NVQ or equivalent electrical apprenticeship
  • Proven experience post apprenticeship in an multiskilled maintenance role
  • Electrical knowledge bias with good mechanical capabilities 60/40
  • Ability to identify and correct faults within electrical, mechanical, pneumatic and water systems
  • Experienced in planned and reactive maintenance
  • Be able to demonstrate a continues improvement mindset
  • Ambitious, hardworking and enthusiastic ‘can do’ attitude
  • Proven use of route cause analysis tools and techniques
