The Environmental Health & Safety Manager’s role is to lead the Oldham site towards it’s aspiration of zero accidents and deliver the highest level of environmental performance through behavioural and culture change. A fundamental part of the role will be to ensure the factory is fully compliant with statutory legislation, regulations and company policies and to be local point of contact for government and auditing bodies.

 

The Role:

 

  • Leading all Health, Health & Environmental compliance requirements in line with all legislative, regulatory, company and market expectations
  • Leading H,S & E Governance across Site Operations
  • Representing the site in Molnlycke Health Care group EHS meetings and conferences
  • Resident expert on EHS matters providing support and advice when requested
  • Developing and leading an EHS improvement programme that will deliver KPI targets year on year
  • Implementing, supporting and reviewing an effective internal audit programme
  • Liaising, consulting and communicating with EHS governing and external auditing/assessment bodies
  • Liaising with Occupational Health in relation to matters that are workplace related
  • Managing the accident, incident, near miss and hazard processes and procedures
  • Through effective coaching, ensure all accidents/incidents are thoroughly investigated, documented and root causes identified to implement robust corrective actions
  • Compiling local and group EHS reports and statistics for publication.
  • Managing and maintaining the EHS management system in line with OHSAS 18001 now transitioning to ISO 45001 and ISO 14001
  • Lead auditor OSHA 18001 and ISO 14001 and preferable SA 8001

 

Qualifications & Experience :

  • Degree qualification preferred
  • NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent in Environmental Health and Safety
  • Working knowledge of Safety and Environment Management Systems (OHSAS 18001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001)
