Region Manager Western

The Region Manager is responsible for developing and executing business plans through alignment of business strategy focusing on strategic categories to deliver volume & profit goals; a push/pull responsibilities to deliver sales targets; and directing, developing, coaching, and supervising direct reports to achieve targeted sales volume, new territory growth and established management goals. This position has overall responsibility for developing and maintaining effective customer relations within assigned region



  • Responsible for representing company in a positive, professional manner with all direct reports, along with internal contacts and external customers.
  • Responsible for implementation of sales plans within assigned region to meet or exceed objectives for sales and market share. Develops and implements business plans consistent with overall marketing strategies and established promotion and expense budgets.
  • Manages and develops accounts, and establishes plans for new market opportunities. Develops annual region business plan which reflects brand and product strategies.
  • Responsible for establishing customer relationships, representing Company in sales calls and negotiations, and developing ongoing relationships meet or exceed sales goals.
  • Responsible for account administration utilizing management tools such as Cognos and Salesforce.com to ensure complete and accurate customer records, to track and review sales staff activities and run rates, conducting pre-call planning and post-call analysis, collecting and evaluating sales reports, and processing orders. Provides regular reports to sales management of region activities and results.
  • Responsible for overseeing and coordinating activities of assigned sales staff, serving as leader in setting and meeting team goals. Sales staff management also includes:
    • Actively develops sales staff to stretch their capabilities; provides behavioural feedback to develop self-awareness, and continual coaches and motivates to drive enhanced performance;
    • Leads with impact to make things happen; generates confidence and empowers sales team to step up in order to draw from their strengths;
    • Performs business reviews and field rides with sales team to drive positive business results; Recognizes great performance and provides meaningful feedback;
    • Reviewing sales activities and results achieved, and working with individual sales staff to evaluate and improve techniques and approaches;
    • Interviewing, selecting, orienting, training, and evaluating work performance of assigned employees; and
    • Reviewing call cycles, expense reports, and ensuring activities are consistent with Company policies and plans and established budgets.
  • Responsible for development of effective customer relations within assigned region in order to ensure satisfaction and service, and promote needs awareness. Assists sales staff in responding to more difficult or complex customer relation issues.
  • Performs other duties as assigned


  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Sales or related field from an accredited college/university required
  • 5-7 years of medical sales experience preferred
  • At least 3+ years of demonstrated leadership in sales (training, mentorship, team lead, etc) or documented enrollment in a formal management development program required
  • Knowledge of sales, business plans, and business development strategies
  • Experience with account administration oversight and providing effective supervision and motivation of sales staff, and in-depth knowledge of methods and management of sales opportunities
  • Above average level proficiency in Salesforce and ability to demonstrate to others. Proficient in all Mölnlycke supplied computer equipment (iPad, laptop) and business software (Excel, Powerpoint, Word, Cognos,)
  • Extensive travel (60-80%)
  • Must hold valid driver’s license and have a clean driving record
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain required credentialing to perform job
  • Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs., stand for long periods of time and walk long distances
  • Performs all Company business in accordance with all regulations (e.g., EEO, FDA, DEA, OSHA, etc.) and Company policies and procedures
