Medical Affairs Manager- Wound Care- U.S. Based-Covering The America's

We are currently searching for Medical Affairs Manager  . This person will be based in their home base office in the  Americas- US preferred (LATAM and Canada included in the Area) .

The  Medical Affairs Manager is responsible for corporate Medical Affairs activities related to the Wound Care Business Area (WCBA) within the US .  They will serve as the medical-scientific link between the wound care community in the region and MHC. The position serves to support the three strategic pillars of the medical affairs department, within the Wound Care business area:

  1. Development of Global and Local Evidence Strategy driven the WCBA
  2. Support Local Evidence Generation which requires human subject investigations
  3. Evidence Interpretation to allow the BA to maximize on its value
  4. Medical Intelligence and clinical insights input into the BA

The Medical Affairs Manager role is responsible for providing strategic and operational support of the WCBA US  leadership and demonstrate leadership to guide the completion of key evidence pieces to support the commercial strategy within the region.  The role will work collaboratively with other business areas to deliver on “one-Molnlycke” initiatives when requested. The Medical Affairs Manager conducts engagements with internal and external customers by role modeling Mölnlycke’s high performance behaviors, displaying integrity and a non-judgmental, positive attitude. In addition, the role participates in business development activities when requested by the medical director.

 

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Serve as the medical expert for the Americas WC BA
  • The MA manager is aware of the local evidence generation needs where clinical studies are necessary and which level of evidence/study is required. 
  • Work with local WC marketing and global clinical affairs to identify and fulfil clinical evidence needs with respect to the Americas WC organisation.
  • Able to identify potential clinical investigation sites and partnerships with key organisations and societies to help drive evidence generation and relevant publications.  
  • Have a working knowledge of clinical investigations including local legal, ethical and regulatory frameworks. 
  • Develop a working knowledge and understanding of customer needs in target markets. This may include a healthcare provider (HCP), patients, procurement/value analysis professionals and other key customers as relevant to the strategy
  • Assist with the evidence dissemination process specifically interpretation of clinical evidence for the wider team, such as marketing and sales.
  • Gathering and sharing internally, key market intelligence in relation to Molnlycke and competitor brands
  • The MA manager is considered an internal expert in wound care as a discipline as well as possessing an in depth product related knowledge, is a resource for clinical discussions of appropriate use based on specific product indications
  • Ensure adherence to relevant Regulatory requirements, Good Clinical Practice and Company Standard Operating Procedures as appropriate

 

KEY DECISIONS

  • Under direction of WCBA identifies qualified key opinion leaders to support strategic initiatives and ensures HCP compliance.
  • Ensure all interactions with KOLs are in line with Molnlycke Policy and carried out in a compliant manner. 
  • Identify and grade strength of evidence of appropriate literature associated with support of the local business strategy
  • Support the publication process including manuscript creation, suggestion of authorship and selection of peer reviewed journals for the placement and dissemination of key study results to support local commercial strategy
  • Collaborate with the global evidence committee to review all requested support for Americas  based investigator initiated and Quality Improvement Projects based on applicable global and regional regulations separating human subjects research from quality assurance and performance improvement activities

 

CAPABILITIES; QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Clinical/scientific background (MD, DO, PharmD, PhD, RN) with 3+ years of experience in Medical Device Industry or Pharmaceuticals (medical affairs preferred).
  • Capability to critically appraise, interpret and communicate research studies and scientific information
  • Experience in the design, implementation or execution of clinical trials is preferred
  • Proficiency in the English language preferred and excellent communication skills
  • Capability to develop and present oral presentations to key stakeholders when appropriate for internal or external training
  • Leadership capabilities to manage, lead and engage internal and external stakeholders

  • Location: Americas- US preferred (LATAM and Canada included in the Area) 
  • The Americas  Medical Affairs Manager may work remotely as per the established global guidance on remote working principles
  • National and International travel is required The Medical Affairs Manager may follow global guidance on flexible working hours especially when business activities involve regions in different time zones
  • To challenge, innovate and inspire new ways of working, especially those that improve the efficiency, effectiveness and cost-effectiveness of strategic initiatives set forth by the medical director.
