Mölnlycke is now looking for a Purchasing Manager  to join our business area Wound Care in Mikkeli, Finland. In Wound Care at Mölnlycke Health Care, we help to prevent, manage and accelerate the healing of wounds.

 

About the job

In this position you will have the possibility to be a part of a global organization and to work in cross-functional projects with impact on our business strategy. You will be a part of the management team in Mikkeli to ensure continuity of supply, drive cost reductions and identify improvement initiatives to support the Mikkeli operation and support the Wound Care's ambitious growth targets.

 

The main responsibilities will be to plan, organise, coordinate and control all purchasing activities and supply production with raw materials, goods and services. This in the right quantities, at the right quality, at the right time and at the right price.

 

You will ensure an effective supply chain, optimise warehouse functions, identifying innovative and new improved strategies, being in the management team and control of inventory.

 

You will manage the lead buyer and embedding a team based working approach, collaborate with other departments to identify improvement areas and close operational gaps.

 

You will need to have a strategic awareness of the global markets for our biggest spends to ensure that  we optimise our purchases.

 

Also you will promote and support project management best practice within the organization. For us it is crucial to drive continuous improvement in an changing environment and to ensure knowledge transfer within the organization.

 

Key accountabilities

  • Lead, manage and coordinate procurement team and procurement activities
  • In compliance with MHC’s procedures, contribute to the competitiveness of our products by obtaining through strategic purchasing and negotiations with our suppliers, advantageous terms for raw materials and services used in our factories.
  • Monitor and control supplier performance to optimise raw material stock levels in the Oldham Factory.
  • Co-operate and support R&D projects on a day to day basis and try to use existing suppliers wherever possible considering a total cost of ownership approach.
  • Work closely with suppliers to obtain optimum total cost for MHC incl. but not limited to price, sourcing currency, payment terms, lead-times, delivery terms etc.
  • Sign commercial contracts in line with MHC procedures with key suppliers in order to formalize the mutual agreements.
  • Improve internal processes and procedures, with focus on supplier performance.
  • Work actively with other functions to establish and maintain an active supplier base incl. dual sourcing of key raw materials etc.
  • Work closely with QA and R&D to ensure that raw material specifications and quality requirements are met and regularly review complaints and quality failures to facilitate rapid corrective action.
  • Be an active member in the Global Procurement Team.
     

What you’ll need…

  • Academic business and/or engineering degree or equivalent experience
  • In depth purchasing experience, preferable also in managerial position
  • Extensive knowledge and competence of purchasing processes and tools
  • Experience from an international business environment
  • Demonstrated experience in building commercial relationships and negotiating terms.
  • Fluent in English – both verbal and written
  • Result oriented and analytical thinking with ability to break down problems
  • Easy to see the big picture and have excellent communication skills
  • Good team player, understanding the importance of stakeholder management
  • Experience from the medical device industry is an advantage
