Operations Manager - Manufacturing

We are recruiting for an Operations Manager - Manufacturing, a function that is part of the local factory management team in Mikkeli, Finland. Your key accountabilities:

  • Contribute operations information and recommendations to strategic plans and reviews; prepare and complete action plans; implement production, productivity and quality; resolve problems; complete audits; identify trends
  • Communication of strategic and annual targets that have been set for the operation area and achievement of those targets
  • Obey laws, statutes, directives and standards relevant to the production site
  • Organize quick industrialization processes for new products
  • Secure fast, flexible and economic implementation of new processes and/or equipment
  • To foster a problem solving culture
  • Maintain and develop the factory’s CI (continuous improvement) in the operation area
  • Plan and execute an effective and economic production according to customer needs
  • Continuous and profitable development of methods and equipment in the operations area
  • Follow up and guidance within preventive maintenance, repairing, hygiene and cleaning and carry out corrective action
  • Annual budget creation for operations area, taking competitiveness and continuous improvement into account
  • Secure Health and Safety of personnel and good work environment in the operations area
  • Define and plan the need of personnel to secure efficient and sufficient amount in the operations area
  • Ensure efficient collaboration and co-ordination between relevant departments including procurement,  R&D and management

 

Your qualifications and competencies:

  • Master’s degree related to Operations, Technology, Supply Chain, Logistics
  • General knowledge of Finance
  • Continuous Improvement (CI) knowledge and mindset
  • A track record of managerial experience

About Mölnlycke Mikkeli

We manufacture many of our wound care and prevention products in Mikkeli, such as the Mepilex® Border family, including Sacrum and Heel, Post-Op and Flex – as well as more conventional products like Mepore®. Staffed by over 500 people and operating 24 hours a day, the factory is located some 2.5 hours from the Finish capital, Helsinki. In total the site is over 40,000 square meters and produces more than 500 different SKUs (Stock keeping units). We have invested in past 5 years approx. 35 M€ to new machines and we will continue our growth journey.
