Currently we are recruiting for a Senior Manager Data Science & Statistics to join our Medical & Economic Affairs Department. This position is to operate globally. The purpose of the role is:


  • Drive a data orientated approach to enable Mölnlycke to make more data driven decisions
  • To support Mölnlycke to collect, shape, store, manage, and analyze clinical data
  • Aid in the development and implementation of a data science strategy
  • To strategically, and operationally, lead the team of Clinical Data Managers, Biostatistician and Clinical & Economic Analyst responsible for delivery of data management and statistics in clinical activities
  • Establish clear communications and alignments with relevant internal and external stakeholders in regards to how available and future clinical data can be utilized to meet business & regulatory needs
  • To collaborate closely with IT through dotted line



  • Improve data storage architectures and collection protocols
  • Efficiently manipulate large, complex data sets and apply advanced analytical methods when needed
  • Conduct analysis which may include data gathering and requirement specification, processing, scientific analysis, and presentation
  • Contribute to Mölnlycke’s strong drive to be on the cutting edge of data science in line with the company’s objectives
  • Effectively communicate with clinical operations, medical affairs, health economic, marketing and IT teams
  • Management of the DM/statistic team to secure delivery of tasks
  • Resource utilization and competence development of the DM/Statistic team
  • Accountable for providing the right input for clinical activities such as e.g. database creation, SAP, sample size analysis, study design and protocol development etc
  • Oversee data management as well as statistics in relation to clinical activities to secure sufficient quality and delivery of reports in a timely manner to be included in e.g. CIR
  • Accountable for establishing ways of handling available as well as future clinical data, e.g. concerning storage for external vendors databases, registry data, and previous clinical study data
  • Proactively, together with relevant stakeholders, identify new way of analysing and using clinical data, to meet business and regulatory needs



  • Apply expertise in using novel data science tools to perform statistical analysis on large complex datasets as needed to gain insights into clinical and other data relevant to Mölnlycke’s objectives
  • Management of DM/Statistic team and the resource utilization
  • Apply expertise in statistic and data management for clinical activities
  • Communication to, and alignment with, internal and external stakeholders in regards to DM/statistic tasks 
  • From a clinical data perspective, responsible for compliance with internal and regulatory requirements
  • All tasks completed within forecasted timelines and budgets
  • Drive and promote the Mölnlycke high performance behavior with the team



  • Relevant medical/scientific/computer education on MSc level or equivalent
  • 7-10 years data management and biostatistics within clinical research area
  • Proven leadership experience and management skills. Leading with impact and prestige less personality
  • Good networking and organizational skills as well as entrepreneurial sense of ownership and execution 
  • Data orientated
  • Strong negotiations and communication skills and ability to work with various stakeholders, subcontractors and partners
  • Thorough knowledge within clinical data management and statistics within clinical research area
  • Knowledge in national and international requirements and regulations within the area of clinical data management 
  • Fluent in English (written and spoken)
  • Experience with statistical data analysis software
  • Experience of working with clinical data, databases, project management and working as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Proficiency in database languages
  • Experience with AI frameworks preferred
